Three Years, Three Seminars, 400+ People: The Yearbook Documenting Vietnam's Smart Agriculture Turning Point
What happens when you put Ministry leadership, diplomats and agricultural scientists from two countries in the same room, three years running? NIC AU’s yearbook has the answer — and it reads like a case study in what overseas Vietnamese expertise can actually deliver.
Three Years in the Making
Published in early 2024 under the direct patronage of Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Smart Agriculture Vietnam Journey 2021–2023 — in Vietnamese, “Hành trình Nông nghiệp Việt Nam: Thông minh, bền vững, tuần hoàn, xanh, hiệu quả, giảm khí thải” — documents NIC AU’s three-year High-Tech Agriculture Seminar Series, held annually at Vietnam’s State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs.
The Numbers Behind the Story
- 3 specialist seminars, held consecutively from 2021 to 2023
- 400+ participants, joining both in-person and online
- Direct engagement from Ministry of Science and Technology leadership, diplomatic representatives and leading agricultural researchers from Vietnam and Australia
- Coverage by over 100 media organisations in Vietnam and internationally
Why It Matters
The yearbook isn’t a dry conference proceedings document — it’s structured in three parts tracing the real progress and future prospects of Vietnam’s agriculture sector as it moves through digital transformation and sustainable development. It captures the technical presentations, policy discussions and cross-border partnerships that emerged from the seminar series, positioning it as a genuine reference resource for policymakers, enterprises and the scientific community working on Vietnam’s agricultural future.
The publication was formally acknowledged in the Embassy of Vietnam’s official Letter of Introduction for NIC AU, which specifically cited the yearbook as one of the network’s landmark contributions.
The yearbook includes:
- Full technical proceedings from all three seminars (2021–2023)
- Policy recommendations from Ministry of Science and Technology contributors
- Case studies in precision agriculture, climate-adaptive farming and supply chain resilience
- Contributions from diplomatic and academic leaders across Vietnam and Australia
