About NIC AU
Who We Are
Established on 2 December 2019 during a state-level visit by Vietnam's Ministry of Planning and Investment, NIC AU is a registered non-profit network (NSW Fair Trading, ABN: 65 918 654 630) connecting Vietnamese professionals, researchers, scientists and entrepreneurs across Australia — driving collaboration in science, technology, innovation and knowledge transfer for Vietnam's development.
Working closely with Vietnam's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese and the Embassy of Vietnam in Australia, alongside leading Australian universities, our key activities include:
- AURORA Awards, which celebrate excellence and innovation among Vietnamese researchers
- Updating news of science, technology, innovation and policy from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese and the Embassy of Vietnam in Australia to our network of scholars, researchers and students across Australia
- Supporting partnerships that promote technology transfer, industry collaboration and the commercialisation of research outcomes in Australia and Vietnam

A new first-author paper by AURORA 2025 First Prize winner Huỳnh Minh Anh (NIC AU), published in Advanced Materials Technologies (Wiley), presents a flexible implantable silicon carbide device that records cancer cell activity and eliminates it via targeted electroporation.
